Video Conference Calls

Video Conferences, also known as Collaboration and Virtual Meeting Rooms, combines audio, HD video, screen sharing, messaging, and presence in one virtual meeting. Anyone can join your collaboration conference using desktop and mobile devices.

The host is responsible for inviting people to a conference as well as starting a conference. Make sure to use a desktop device if you want to share your screen.

 Conference PIN (Optional)

To set a participant PIN, go to Softphone > Preferences (Windows) or Cymbus > Preferences (Mac), choose the Conferences panel, then enable Require PIN/Passcode and enter a number.

Hosting a Conference

  1. Click the Icon_Cymbus_Conferences.png Conference icon at the top right of the Cymbus app.
  2. Select Start a Conference Now.
  3. Once the conference has started, you can invite people to join using the Participants slide-out panel on the left of the conference window.

Add participant

Participants must belong to the same group as you. There is no cross-account support.

      1. From the left side of the conference window, click Participants.png Participants.
      2. Click Icon_Cymbus_Add.png and then enter the name or number of the next participant.
      3. Type the first name of the person you want to add, then select their name.

      4. The invited user will receive a Cymbus chat message from you with the link to the Video Conference.
      5. In the conference window, click Share_Screen.png to share your screen. A yellow bounding box outlines your screen as a visual cue to what is being shared.

Email participants

      1. Click the Email.png Email icon.
      2. If asked, select the application you want to use for email.
      3. Add contacts to the email and send.
      4. The invited user will receive an email with login information for the conference.

Schedule a conference

  1. Click the Icon_Cymbus_Conferences.png Conference icon at the top right of the Cymbus app.
  2. Select Schedule a Conference.
  3. Your primary calendar application will open. Add invitees and set a time. If set, the PIN will be included in the invite.
  4. Send the invitation email.

Copy Conference Link to Clipboard

  1. Click the Icon_Cymbus_Conferences.png Conference icon at the top right of the Cymbus app.
  2. Click Copy Conference Link to Clipboard.
  3. Paste the link into an email, instant message, or any other way you prefer, and send.
