The Legacy Cymbus app is being discontinued in favor of the new Cymbus app. If you haven't already, talk to your Service Provider to get it enabled for you. See Switch to the New UC App for details.

Cymbus Meetings combine audio, HD video, screen sharing, messaging, and presence in one virtual meeting. Anyone can join your meeting using desktop and mobile devices.
The host is responsible for inviting people to a meeting as well as starting a meeting. Make sure to use a desktop device if you want to share your screen.

Meeting PIN (Optional)
To set a participant PIN, go to Softphone > Preferences (Windows) or Cymbus > Preferences (Mac), choose the Meetings panel, then enable Require PIN/Passcode and enter a number.
Hosting a Meeting
- Click the Meeting icon at the top right of the Cymbus app.
- Select Start a Meeting Now.
- Once the meeting has started, you can invite people to join using the Participants slide-out panel on the left of the meeting window.
Add participant
Participants must belong to the same group as you. There is no cross-account support.

- From the left side of the meeting window, click Participants.
- Click and then enter the name or number of the next participant.
- Type the first name of the person you want to add, then select their name.
- The invited user will receive a Cymbus chat message from you with the link to the meeting.
- In the meeting window, click to share your screen. A yellow bounding box outlines your screen as a visual cue to what is being shared.

Email participants

- Click the Email icon.
- If asked, select the application you want to use for email.
- Add contacts to the email and send.
- The invited user will receive an email with login information for the meeting.

Schedule a meeting
- Click the Meeting icon at the top right of the Cymbus app.
- Select Schedule a Meeting.
- Your primary calendar application will open. Add invitees and set a time. If set, the PIN will be included in the invite.
- Send the invitation email.
Copy meeting link to clipboard
- Click the Meeting icon at the top right of the Cymbus app.
- Click Copy Meeting Link to Clipboard.
- Paste the link into an email, instant message, or any other way you prefer, and send.
Joining a Meeting
Participants can join a meeting using the Cymbus client, a web browser, or by dialing in. Depending on the host’s settings, participants may enter the meeting immediately or must wait until the host joins. Cymbus needs access to your microphone and camera for a meeting.
- To join a meeting, click the link in the invitation email or copy/paste it into your browser.
- If the browser detects your Cymbus app, Cymbus will launch.
- If the browser detects that you do not have a Cymbus client, you can install the app, dial in, or join from your browser.
- Enter your name and a PIN, if required. Tap Join. The name you enter will be displayed to other participants during the meeting.
- If prompted, allow Cymbus to access your microphone and camera.
- If prompted, enter the meeting PIN given by the host.
Dial-In Info
If a PIN is enabled for the meeting, click the Schedule Meeting button in the app to get the details from the meeting invite. You can also load the meeting URL into your browser and click on "dial in" to get the same information with additional dial-in phone numbers.
Meeting Console
Video | By default, a meeting includes video feed of people who choose to send their video. The host and the participants have control over sending and stopping their own video as well as receiving video feed of other participants. Other video settings such as video resolution, layout, video name tag and pinned video are controlled by the host. |
Remove Participant |
To remove a participant from the meeting, select the participant and click X next to their name. |
Instant Message | To send an individual instant message to a participant, click Send Instant Message beside their name. Type in your message and press Enter. |
